The condo was clean and neat and relatively quiet. The location is pretty nice, downtown is a block away. We escaped a Minnesota blizzard and ended up in Lake Geneva, the weather was still crappy but avoided 18" of snow. Due to the weather we spent more time inside than we normally do. The room was comfortable enough and priced ok, we would do it again.
Great place to stay,right in the heart of everything going on.
We had never been to Lake Geneva before, we rented a condo and loved it. Nice place,clean,friendly people,at every turn. We were leaving when all the Labor Day crowd was arriving,which was a plus, husband had the pool almost to himself the week we were there. Beautiful and very relaxing.
Needs Work and Cleaning Overhaul
My husband and I booked this property primarily because of the location and due to a full-service kitchen. Cooking in to save $ was ideal. Communication with seller was great at immediate booking, but was lacking 1 week prior to stay. I had to reach out to renter to glean info about location, #, where keys would be, etc., and then renter stopped replying to emails regarding how I could contact him if there were issues with the stay, how to document damages on site so we wouldn't be charged, etc. Upon check in at 3PM, keys were not at the front desk--huge hassle here (I won't go into details). Then, when we arrived, we found many issues with the suite (to which the owner still will not reply to emails about): Bathroom was uncleaned--toothpaste was all over vanity and sink, counters were dirty, microwave had crusted on food, floors looked like they hadn't been swept/mopped in forever (walking on the carpet in our white socks resulted in blacked bottoms), and a dishwasher that had a note inside that said--sorry out of order. Seeing that the 1st reported issue of this on the property reviews was 06/07 2016 we assumed this was working--again a key reason why we stayed here. If this has been out of order for over a year, please take this off the listing because we wouldn't have stayed here. Per the water damage on the floor in the kitchen around the dishwasher, it was apparent it had been broken a long time. We wouldn't have stayed here if we had known this was an issue. Also, communication is key--even with the dishwasher broken, being up front with us would have been well received. It's sad this was hidden from us. Also, since we're charged for a "cleaning service," I'd like my $ returned (as I noted in communications to renter) because this wasn't cleaned at all. Yes, we agree with previous reviews that it was dark/dingy--definitely needed sprucing up, but this really didn't matter. Cleanliness is key which we did not find. It's a great location, and we would give this property another go if the renter would be more communicative and would clean the room better. We've stayed in cheaper places, with less amenities, but they were cleaner than this. I do have pictures of what the room looked like if there are any discrepancies to prove our findings. It's just a room--that's not why we went--don't get us wrong, but we'd like to feel comfortable with where we stay.
This woman is a liar. I met her in the parking lot at 3pm after she went to the front desk at 2:58 pm (I have email proof of her message at 2:58pm that she was there and no key at front desk).
I didn't reply to her last email before her arrival which stated:
"I apologize, but I have two more questions/comment:
1) What is the best way to reach you if there are issues we encounter during our stay? Will you provide a phone number for us?
2) We will inspect the property and document any issues we see so they won't be laid to our charge upon our departure. Would you like me to email you with a list of issues? Are there any global ones you already know about that shouldn't be worth reporting?"
RED FLAG!!! - Should I have cancelled her reservation then???
When she met me in the parking lot, I gave her the keys and parking passes. She
can't let go the fact I didn't reply to her tedious emails, so she mentioned it again in person. I told her she can inspect the place. I called her phone in front of me so she could save my number and text me if any problems. SHE NEVER TEXTED ME!

I CLEANED THE PLACE MYSELF, THAT'S WHY I WAS THERE AT 2:58 PM.
The bathroom was sanitized. The linens were replaced with clean linens. The table and counter top surfaces were sanitized and dusted. The carpets were vacuumed. There is a bucket of cleaning supplies under bathroom sink if she wants to clean further or eat off the floor.
This woman can't get over the fact I didn't reply to her email. That's probably why she writes a dishonest review, so she will get revenge, or her coveted reply. Here's her reply. And since this review contains deliberate lies but "[She] won't go into details," she has committed intentional interference with prospective contractual relations, a business tort, slander. I can prove she tried checking in before 3pm, the check in time. I can prove she never texted or emailed any issues after checking in, even though this was her priority.
