Great cottage in a quiet village
Cottage was just what we were looking for. Very peaceful and easy access to local area. Only negative was the climber on the decking area as it meant there was no view over the field which would have been lovely also it was a bit overgrown so encroached on to the bench and steps. Just a pity about this as the cottage was lovely, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped.
A well equipped and super-peaceful cottage. Friendly and helpful hosts.
Clean, beautifully and sympathetically furnished; very comfortable and offers excellent amenities.
The property has been beautifully and sympathetically restored to offer extremely comfortable accommodation, with all the amenities you would expect. Very well equipped and maintained, and very clean. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The location is great for the coast, but also offers a wealth of other things to do close by.
Great place to stay
Loved the cottage, everything we needed was here and the location is fantastic for exploring the surrounding countryside.
Amazing place run by lovely people.
I stayed at Hursey gate stables with my wife and 2 year old daughter for a long weekend, from the start John’s Communication was excellent and very helpful. I would highly recommend staying here and visiting the local pub and shop.
Beautiful place run by a lovely family.
It was lovely to meet you, we are delighted that you had a good time and enjoyed Hursey Gate Stables. We are very lucky to have a great pub and a lovely shop. Thank you very much for the kind review and we hope that you will stay with us again.
A very characterful and comfortable place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Hursey Gate Stables and spent several days just relaxing at the property. We found it very warm, comfortable and cozy for a break in Winter. It's also a great base to explore the local area and even East Dorset isn't too far to drive for a day out. The village of Broadwindsor has a pub (nothing special but nice to be able to walk a short distance for a drink without having to drive anywhere), a community store for groceries and a craft centre/restaurant. Beaminster is just a short drive away and has a co op, pubs and a couple of restaurants and takeaways. All in all a very pleasant stay. Thicker wooden doors to the bedrooms would make it even better as it is an open plan property.. but if you sleep well that's not an issue, and the beds are very comfortable. Would recommend :)
