Short stay in Dorset area
The property was lovely and cosy .Had everything you wanted .
The Loft bedroom could be updated a little .The beds were very comfortable .Enjoyed staying here.
Location was great.
An amazing home from home stay.
Fantastic cottage with everything you could need though out your stay a real home from home. A great base for exploring the local area in a quirky setting steeped in history. Bridport is an excellent place in itself with lots going on , whether its the market on a Saturday morning or music in the many pubs and restaurants - there is something for everyone. The bus services are also great and you can wander further afield if you want to. An excellent location if you want to forget the car and just explore locally. West Bay is only a short (approx 2 miles) walk away with many of the 'seaside' entertainments that you would expect. Definitely try Aroma cafe - fabulous sarnies, paninis and soups (large portions too) and the Taj Mahal - sublime!. Also The Stables Pizza place behind the Bull Hotel is great. We'll definitely be back.
Fabulous location for town, beach and countryside
A very well equipped cottage. Real home from home. Easy to walk to beach and beyond. We hope to return soon.
Lovely cottage, great location
Really lovely cottage, small but with everything you need. Fantastic location to enjoy Bridport. Very clean and comfortable, Pretty garden. Bottle of wine and chocolate a nice welcome gift. Will visit again.
Lovely character cottage, exceptionally well equipped, clean, comfortable beds, good location
A pretty cottage in an attractive street of similar properties. Our intention was to go to Burton Bradstock, which was only 15 mins away so not particularly bothered about the amenities in Bridport. However we did walk in the town upon our arrival to have a quick look round and it appeared very well equipped with restaurants/pubs/take aways/and we saw a Spar and Waitrose. There is an enormous Morrison about 5 mins drive away. There were banks and building societies, which are increasingly rare in the South East, bakers, butchers and the usual charity shops. Quite an attractive high street and a good kicking off point to get around other popular parts of Dorset.
The cottage is occasionally used by the family who own it and that made all the difference to how well it was equipped. Really useful stuff like hooks on doors, mirrors you can sit in front of, spare shopping bags, huge amounts of kitchen equipment etc; all of which can be missing from the usual B&B. In addition there were radios in each room and a radio/CD player in the living room with a selection of CDs and DVD's. all the type of things that make it home from home. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept well in our respective rooms; bed linen was clean and crisply laundered. The living area is small (it is a cottage after all) but if you have children the upstairs attic room where I slept is enormous with plenty of space. Great to have a utility room as well. The kitchen is very nice (loved the colour) and has a table and chairs, which is always really welcome, and although we didn't use it the garden is very long with picnic table and so would be a great amenity for the summer months.
I really liked this cottage and we had no trouble parking in the road despite the current road works which are temporary. It had everything we needed and a lovely cosy, cottagey atmosphere. We did a lot of walking during the day and hunkered down in the evenings for dinner, wine and a film, and we were very comfortable and warm. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
Characterful cottage. Small but well equipped. Close to town and seaside resorts.
Lovely little cottage near to the town centre. Ideal for a weekend away.
