Lovely apartment in stunning location
We stayed here for 2 weeks in August 2019 and were delighted with this apartment. It was very spacious and clean, with plenty of storage for clothes.
There was everything you needed to eat and drink in the apartment, although we took advantage of the many fine restaurants on the Kotor side of the bay most evenings.
We contacted the agent a couple of times during our stay and they were fast to respond.
The views across the bay were stunning - far better than the pictures indicate. It is a 10 minute walk to get down to the bay in order to go swimming there. The water is clean and warm - we saw many fish. And you can either jump off the rocks, or ease in gently from one of the many sets of steps.
The pool at the apartment is of a good size and is deep enough for a serious swimmer to get a work-out. However, a few more sunbeds around it would be a plus.
The downside to the apartment for some people would be the fact that you have to climb down a steep flight of about 80 steps to get to it. Also, there is only one restaurant within a short walk, and this was closed by 9pm when we tried to go to it. Be prepared for a lot of taxi rides, or hire a car. But be warned - the roads are quite narrow in places, and Montenegran drivers are impatient!
Zeer mooi uitzicht, prachtig, wild land, waar ze het toerisme nu volop ontwikkelen . Binnen 10 jaar is dit onbetaalbaar. Het appartement voldoet aan alle verwachtingen. Zeker het terras is de max.
A lovely apartment. Everything we needed was there. The view was amazing.
Apartment was lovely. The church next door rang its bells at 7am every morning and made us feel part of Kotor.
Beautiful pool with loads of loungers.
The pictures cannot do the view justice. Huge cruise ships came in every morning. We saw dolphins in the bay looking across to Kotor Old Town.
White water rafting is a must....be prepared to get wet!
Climb the Old Town fortress walls for the views.
We went to Budva Aquapark one day. Some great rides. Some scary ones too!
It takes 30 to 40 minutes to walk to Kotor Town but the taxi will only cost €2.50.
Use the "Red Taxi" phone 19719. Sort your phone before going or be charged £6 a day for calls and £1.80 to send or receive every text.
Remember, you are in an apartment, so there will be some noise from your neighbours.
We went to the beach lots. The water is warm and clear and very safe. You will see and swim with many fish. The beach is made up of small stones so don't expect long sandy beaches and the tide only goes out about 1.5m!
We would definitely return to Kotor, and to this apartment. It was a fantastic holiday.
Mooie woning , prachtig uitzicht
De ligging van de woning is fenomenaal. Bijna iedere dag zie je de grote cruiseschepen. Kotor is ook echt volop de moeite waard. Toch ook enkele kleine minpuntjes: de weg naar de accommodatie is niet best, zestig traptreden naar de woning is best veel ( je zou maat slecht ter been zijn ) en de afstand naar Kotor per voet is toch echt wel een halfuur. De woning is heel netjes, maar ik miste een koffiezetter en de stoelen op het balkon zouden wet wat geriefelijker mogen zijn. Neemt niet weg; de algemene indruk is zeer positief.

Stunning views but overall disappointing
The apartment, in essence, is pleasant with stunning views over to Kotor Old Town. However, the 'road' to the apartment is a dirt track at the end of which you are greeted by a burnt out car and dumper truck. It is a long walk to the Old Town (at least 45 minutes) and was not particularly pleasant when it was dark. The bedsheet on the main bed was marked, there was old furniture on the balconies that needed either replacing or staining/painting, no toaster, no corkscrew and no bottle opener. The TV didn't work when we arrived but this was fixed for us. We do not generally watch TV on holiday but when we wanted to watch the World Cup Football we could not find a single channel out of over 200 that showed this. Also, there was only one English speaking channel, BBC World News. There was no guest information folder evident - we found this by chance in the TV cabinet on our last night. The guest information suggested there would be a welcome pack but there was not so I guess it was probably out of date. To top it all we were woken each morning at 07:00 by a church bell no more than 100 metres away. Added to that, on our final morning we were woken by hammering and drilling at 05:30. We appreciate that this is out of the control of the apartment but it was not a nice experience whilst on holiday.
Kotor Old Town is beautiful and we are glad we visited Montenegro to see it, however, overall we were disappointed with our apartment.
I did email these points to Francesca upon our return home but, unfortunately, I have received no response.
We were saddened to receive this review as we have received so many positive and appreciative messages in the many years that I have been letting the apartment. It is untrue to say that I have not responded to Karen's comments; I responded at length on the Homeaway website and clearly this can be verified.
In my response, I took care to address Karen's points in turn.
To be more specific: the access road to the apartment consists of two thirds tarmac, the remainder is so far unadopted but perfectly passable by car or on foot. Our higher location is what gives us our breathtaking views.
Karen is the only person to mention the church bell. We have always loved the proximity of the old church and have featured it in our photographs so that people have a clear idea of what to expect.
We retain the services of a very good agent to address any problems, queries or difficulties guests may come across during their stay at our apartment. On occasion, items do go missing from the apartment and I can assure guests that items such as a corkscrew, bottle opener and toaster can be replaced within ten minutes if the agent is contacted. In this case, the agent was not informed and so was unaware.
The use of stained bed linen is regrettable and I have reiterated instructions to the housekeepers that any stained linen returning from the laundry should be discarded. I agree that these kind of oversights should not occur but such an incidence will always be addressed immediately if reported. On this occasion, it was not reported.
I can reassure guests that old cars and diggers have no connection to Kotor View apartments, neither do any minor works. I have asked the agent to look into this matter.
The cabinet on which the television is situated is the only storage facility in the lounge/dining area and therefore where the guest information folder is located. Any confusion over this would be addressed speedily by the agent who is only too willing to assist.
I have thanked Karen for her observations about the balcony tables and chairs and have taken steps to address them.
We are dismayed by this review and are disappointed by the fact that only the difficulty with the television was raised with the agent, resulting in disappointment all round.
Coast / Beach:
En funksjon av stedet er at tilgang til fjorden for svømming eller promenading er åpen på alle punkter langs sin svingete kystlinje. Hver del av kysten har sin egen lokale smak, hver vannkafé eller restaurant sin egen identitet. Det er mye å finne nært til, eller selvfølgelig ytterligere, alt i henhold til din tilbøyelighet. En kjøretur på 15 minutter tar deg til større strender, og duandering sør, vil du møte mange flere flotte strender. Båtliv kan ordnes lokalt.
Den nærmeste flyplassen er Tivat, en 15 minutters kjøretur fra leiligheten, men fordi det er bak fjellene, blir flyene ikke sett eller hørt! Også Dubrovnik lufthavn ligger 90 minutter unna med bil og Podgorica lufthavn ligger 2 timer unna. En bil er ikke nødvendig fordi både drosjer og busser er billige og enkle å få tilgang til. Det er imidlertid enkelt å bestille leiebil fra noen av flyplassene. Bruken av en bil er praktisk, spesielt fra de lengre flyplassene, og gir naturlig mer fleksibilitet.
Montenegro er et kompakt land (omtrent på størrelse med Wales), og det er unikt på grunn av sin vidstrakte kystlinje og variert natur. Muo ligger på dørstokken av Lovcen nasjonalpark og innen rekkevidde av Montenegros andre verdensarvsted, den berømte øya Sveti Stefan. Cetinje, landets tidligere hovedstad, den sjarmerende, pittoreske lillebyen Perast, Budva og Becici, er blant mange og varierte steder for en middels utvei. Glamorøse Tivat Marina ligger 15 minutter unna.
Lenger bort ligger Skadar-søen som strekker seg over den albanske grensen, Barens havn, hvorfra ferger går til Italia, vinproduksjonen, Tara-canyon og Ostrog-klosteret, bygget inn i fjellet, for å nevne noen få steder av interesse. Det er en liten, lokal matbutikk under leiligheten ved sjøen, nås med trinn. En god restaurant kan også bli funnet her. Flere matbutikker og slaktere ligger på vei inn i Kotor og banker, postkontor, restauranter og kafeer i overflod, og et stort, daglig marked ligger i gamlebyen selv. Atmosfæren i Kotor er hyggelig kosmopolitisk, med en god blanding av lokalbefolkningen og turister. Arkitekturen og flisens torg og smug er fascinerende. Det er veldig enkelt å tilbringe tid her, utforske eller observere lokalt liv på de mange friluftkafeer. Majestet og nærheten til de omkringliggende fjellene er alltid i bevis i byen, og det er ekstra interesse for superyachter og cruiseskip som kaller inn her.
Enda mer glamorøse er den store og splitter nye luksusbåthavnen i Tivat, 15 minutter unna. Igjen, satt blant imponerende landskap, er det besøkt av håndverk tilhørende mange av verdens milliardærer. Ved siden av marinaen har de brede, solfylte strandpromenader på Tivat den svært lokale og avslappede, familievennlige atmosfæren som karakteriserer Kotor Bay-området.
