Me and my 16 year old birthday
Firstly I was quite stressed at slow response to my requests for check in info before my departure, but all was well once they made contact. The property was smaller and less hotel like than expected or than the photos portray. However, it gives a good flavour of living in a typical city apartment in Spain and had everything we needed and a bit more. TV channels mainly Catalan or Spanish. I didn't expect access to the rooftop terrace and views of the Segrada from the windows and rooftop so those were a bonus. Good location and great area. Everything worked - air con, heating, hot and cold water, washing machine, shower. More than can be said for London. There was a little noise from the street, sirens and neighbours coming and going but nothing to bother us and just normal part of city life so I don't know why people would complain about that. It was super hot for April during our stay and the apartment was a good respite in the siesta hours, not far from Verdaguer metro stop. Most things are written in Catalan in Barcelona now, something to be aware of and respectful of. The culture and people are fantastic. I wish the apartment had been a little more special - maybe a fresh coat of paint here and there would help too but all in all we enjoyed ourselves and hanging out the window in the hot evening, looking at the moon and segrada familia was just a joy.
