The property is home to 8 registered Babydoll Southdown lambs, which are all between the ages of 3 and 5 months old. Why Babydoll Southdown’s?
It goes without saying that they are the cutest things on the planet, but in addition to their adorable appearance, their small size makes them much easier to handle. The recent trend in agriculture toward smaller acreages gives them an important place in the new rural lifestyle.
Their temperament. Babydoll’s are sweet. They are peaceful, curious, intelligent and like to interact with each other and ‘their people.’ Being an animal that is prey rather than predator, they are shy around new situations and new people. Hand feeding is a good way to build trust. A zip lock bag of grain is provided to all guests should you wish to hand feed them!
Despite their small size and cuteness, Babydoll's are hardy. They are an ancient breed, and therefore, they are not prone to many of the problems associated with modern breeds. Their lifespan is 15-16 years.
Babydoll's offer one of the finest wools of all the British breeds. They are a great source of organic fertilizer and are commonly used with success in orchards, vineyards and berry farms as they will not harm the fruits, tree trunks or shrubs. They are fuel-efficient lawnmowers and high fencing is not necessary.
