Wonderful fun-filled week in the Florida Keys
We truly enjoyed our stay in the half duplex at 491 3rd St in Key Colony Beach. The house was very clean and well provisioned with everything we needed for a great week in the keys. The outdoor space between the house and the boat dock on the canal in particular was very pleasant. Pete and Blanche (the owners) were very helpful and live in the next duplex over. We did not have any problems during our stay and I can definitely recommend this property.
It was a pleasure to have this family stay with us. Despite the windy week, they were able to get out to fish and lobster, enjoying grilling their catch in the evening. The patio enabled them to eat outside with their friends who were vacationing close by. This family left our property, inside and out, in excellent condition and would welcome them back.
Beautiful home at a great location.
Our family had a wonderful time vacationing in this beautiful rental home. The property was clean, very well managed, and in a perfect location for spending days out on the water. The owners were extremely gracious and gave us great advice for boating, diving, fishing, and entertainment in the area. We were able to reserve a boat, get fuel, and fill our scuba tanks just around the corner from our floating dock. We would love to spend every summer in this beautiful home.

Sorry couldn't change the date of our arrival; my husband and I stayed here during the winter of 2014. The home was very clean and beautiful. Blanche and Peter were awesome landlords. Besides being very friendly, they were very helpful with any issue we might have had. All we needed were our toothbrushes and clothes! Because of my husband's size and his arthritis, Peter even brought in another recliner just for him. We had a wonderful time. We have stayed in various areas in FL since 2002 and Key Colony Beach was our favorite.
Great Location, Neat Clean Home and Great Hosts
My family and I stayed at this stilt duplex in July 2015. The home was clean and neat and the owner's were extremely nice and very helpful. Peter instructed me on how to fish for Dolphin and where to find great diving and snorkeling spots for our family. The location is on the open end of the canal and minutes to the open water. Great stay, very comfortable and I would highly recommend selecting this unit to rent.
Peter and Blanche were absolutely awesome to work with. My wife and I had been fortunate enough to get a few days off for our anniversary at the last minute. Peter and Blanche worked with us to accommodate the short notice in one of their beautiful places. A friend of mine was already in Marathon and was returning a couple of days before our arrival. We usually work a deal where he goes one week and we come down when he leaves and he lets us use his boat. Peter gladly allowed the boat to be dropped off at his place and stored until our arrival two days later.
We stayed at 481 3rd St which is very close to the end of the canal. The location made it a short trip to either the reef or the bay side via Vaca Cut. The home was extremely clean, open, and comfortable. There is a washer and dryer in the home which was very convenient. There are more dishes, utensils, and pots / pans than any other home I have stayed at in the area. The kitchen area is very open with considerable counter space for food preparation.
There are freezers at the bottom of the stairs along with a gas grills to cook up your catch. If you are worried about not catching anything don't....Peter is extremely knowledgeable with the waters and can give you suggestions on where to go, tackle to use, current fishing information. The duplex has two dock areas, one of which is a floating dock which we used. The floating dock allowed for our boat to always be at the same level and made it easy to load and unload. The ice machine was very nice to have and saved having to purchase several bags per day.
Peter and Blanche live in the next building so if there is ever an issue, it will be addressed in no time. The entire time we were there, Peter was constantly working on keeping the location clean and functioning as it should. The man has more energy than should be allowed. If there is anything we needed or even brought up in casual conversation, Peter had a way to help us out and save us time and money.
Peter and Blanche are retired school teachers and truly epitomize the concept of customer care. It was considerably nice to deal with the owners of a property instead of having to deal with a manger of a property as I have dealt with in the past. Both sides of the duplex are owned by Peter and Blanche as well as another home on 4th St. I would highly recommend staying at this home for individuals that like the feel of dealing with honest and friendly folks.
