Wow, what a getaway. For anyone looking to disconnect and relax in a beautiful spot, this is for you. The house is lovely - bungalow style with a large open area and great appliances. We spent plenty of time on the hammocks and adirondack chairs out back, mostly for early morning coffee and evening cocktails. There's nothing to hear but the pleasant ambient noises of the ocean and tropical forest. There is no internet connection so the temptation to "check in" isn't there and by the third day we weren't even thinking about it any longer. Both bathrooms are clean and spacious, and bedrooms include A/C to keep you cool at night.
The surrounding area is terrific. The rustic walk (or ride on bikes if you choose) to the ecolodge is pleasant and and the ecolodge itself is extremely well designed and maintained. The food and drinks are great and given there are no crowds there is never a line for anything - food, drinks, massages, yoga, tours, etc. Just ask and you got it!
We left our two young kids at home for this trip. Within an hour of arriving we were already planning a return visit. That said, it is extremely family friendly (there were several parents with kids there) so should you desire bring them along. For us, it was the perfect trip to reset and unwind - fueled by a steady flow of rum, walks on an empty beach, morning and evening swims and talking with friendly people from all over. We're going back ASAP!
